Entering The Design Room Quilt Show is straightforward, but the details matter: real rooms, anonymous judging, and a show that runs on time. Here is everything you are committing to, laid out in order.

These dates come directly from the show calendar. Add the deadlines that matter to your calendar so nothing slips.
01 · Entries open
Create your account, read the three room briefs, and start your submission. You can save a draft and come back.

02 · Entries close
Your entry, photographs and payment must be complete. Late entries are not accepted.

03 · First Glance judging
The panel reviews every eligible entry anonymously. You do nothing — just wait.

04 · Grading round
Advancing entries receive weighted score cards. Best in Show and room winners are determined here.

05 · Show floor opens
The public sees every approved entry and votes once for People's Choice. The show is now live.

The fine print
Designer obligations
These are the commitments every entrant makes. They keep the show fair, the judging anonymous, and the timeline reliable for everyone.
Choose one room
Each quilt must respond to a single room brief in size, palette and spirit. A room is not a loose theme — it is a specific interior with real constraints.
Submit four photographs
Face-on, detail, binding corner, and one extra. Every image must be in focus, colour-accurate, at least 2000px on the shortest side, and free of filters, borders or identifying marks.
Pay the entry fee
The fee is $35 per quilt, due at submission. Entries without confirmed payment are not moderated and will not be judged.
Stay anonymous to judges
Do not include your name, watermark, studio logo, social handle or any identifying mark in any photograph. Repeated violations may result in disqualification.
Respond to moderation
If an entry needs a fix, you will receive an email. You must resubmit before entries close, so watch your inbox and leave at least 48 hours of buffer.
Claim prizes promptly
Cash and physical prizes are fulfilled using the address and account details in your profile. Keep them current.
Teach at the show
Speaking is optional
You do not have to lecture. Every approved speaker — judges and guest educators alike — keeps a 40% share of every ticket sold for their session, paid by PayPal after the show.
- Propose a topic, duration, audience level and format from your account.
- The show team reviews, approves or requests a revision.
- Once scheduled, approved sessions go on sale to the public.
- After the live session, ticket holders get 14 days of replay access.
